Gail has over 20 years experience as a dance and drama teacher teaching all ages from 3 to adult. She trained at Royal Holloway College, University of London studying Drama and Theatre Studies, and later took an MA in Choreography at Middlesex University. She became a qualified licentiate of the UKA and has performed professionally although her primary love is as director and choreographer. Gail has directed and choreographed numerous stage shows including Guys & Dolls, Pippin, Fiddler on the Roof, Anything Goes to name but a few. She also runs many performing arts workshops for local councils, and charities such as the National Trust and is an Arts Award Adviser through the Arts Council England. Gail is also a qualified life coach and trainer of NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) and she uses these advanced educational skills to create an encouraging and positive learning atmosphere throughout the school. Tamara ZivadinovicMMP, MMus, PGdip, BMus(Hons) Teaches: Singing ![]() Tamara graduated from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London and has established herself as an exceptional Concert/Opera Singer as well as Singing Tutor experienced in all genres of music. She started her teaching career at the Glenthorne High School/Specialist Arts College, Sutton and now also works at the Thames Valley University/London College of Music. As a performer, Tamara has played many roles worldwide, including Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro ,Suor Genovieffa in the Suor Angelica (Theatro Slavija, Belgrade) , Pamina in The Magic Flute (for British Youth Opera) and understudy of Monique in The Sofa by E. Maconchy for Independent Opera Sadler’s Wells, London. She has made appearances on many concert platforms in ex-Yugoslavia, Italy, France, Austria and England, and has won several prestigious prizes including, most recently, the Anthony and Barbara Dee special award at the Les Azuriales Opera, Nice, in August 2010 and also she has received an award as the highest-place singer at the Haverhill Sinfonia Soloists Competition 2010 and Susan Longfield prize 2006. Faye has been teaching for Phoenix for 2 years now taking Ballet, Tap and Musical Theatre/Stage dance and Latin and Ballroom classes with all ages, 3yrs to adults. She began her training at the age of 5 when she started Latin American dance, she did this for many years training with top professionals to a high level. She then started training in various other styles and took part in several stage shows. Faye completed 2 years training at The Centre Performing Arts College studying Tap, Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Musical theatre and choreography, also contextual studies on Lifespan development. She gained her teaching qualifications, (Diploma in Dance Education) with the ISTD there. She hopes to take her Latin American Dance Teaching qualifications in the near future. Caroline HainesBA (Hons), Exeter Teaches: Drama ![]() Caroline attended Hurtwood House School near Dorking where she studied Acting and Musical Theatre, and trained with the National Youth Theatre for several years. She also has a first class degree in English Literature from Exeter University. When she’s not teaching, Caroline works as a professional actress, and has recently returned from a break from Phoenix, during which she Hula-ed the day away as the role of Lisa in the West End production of Dirty Dancing. Her other theatre credits include: Mr Vertigo (North Wall Theatre, Oxford) and for the NYT, Measure for Measure (Liverpool Playhouse) and 100 Words (Soho Theatre). She also wrote a
short play that was performed at the Soho Theatre studio by National Youth Theatre members. Teaching is a passion for Caroline, and she periodically returns to teach at her old school, Hurtwood House and has worked with the National Youth Theatre as a mentor and assistant director. She is known by her students for her endless list of ridiculous and often rather anarchic games, and is especially proud of her skills in “Eastenders Zip Zap Boing.” Kelly-Louise RowdenMTC/Dance Diploma & Performing Arts Degree; Member of ISTD Teaches: Street, Tap, Ballet, Stage/Jazz ![]() Kelly-Louise graduated in 2004 from the prestigious Laine Theatre Arts studying Jazz, Modern, Tap, Ballet, Contemporary, Acting, Singing, Pas de deux and Choreography. She is a sought-after performer and a fully Qualified Dance Teacher (ISTD), Choreographer and Personal Trainer (Reps/NASM). Kelly-Louise has had 11 action packed years in the industry, gaining invaluable experience, working with and training under some of the industry's leading names. She has toured the UK with girl band 'Electric Dolls' appearing on BBC3's Upstaged, BBC Radio 1 and at venues including the O2 Wireless Festival (Hyde Park). She has also appeared in several music videos, supported the likes of Sugababes and Shayne Ward and has taught and choreographed extensively across the UK and US. Theatre credits include: Snow White (Wolverhampton Theatre), From the Top (Epsom Playhouse), and West End Laine (Aldwych Theatre) and some of her Television and Film Credits include Dancing on Ice, X-Factor 2010, The Real Hustle, Happy Go Lucky, Casino Royale and The Da Vinci Code as well as several documentaries and various Bollywood Films. She also works as a professional model. Kelly-Louise also enjoys her role as a Dance teacher for various schools and Dance academies in which she can impart her knowledge to students of all ages and abilities. Kelly-Louise believes passionately in empowering people to use their energy in a fun and positive way resulting in improved confidence and self-esteem while at the same time helping students fulfil their potential. Chris AngusHorsham Receptionist / Marketing ![]() Chris has been putting TV graphics on the screen for a variety of production companies over the last 20 years. The light entertainment shows she has worked on include Channel 4’s T4, the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen and ITV’s Loose Women and Daily Cooks Challenge. She has specialised in cookery shows and now has a fine collection of recipes from some well known TV chefs. Her daughter was one of Gail’s earliest drama and tap students and Chris is excited to see young Phoenix students benefiting from the same experience. AmyBeth SmithBMus(Hons) in Performance, BMus(Hons) in Education, ALCM(TD),ATCL, PGdip in Opera Singing & Vocal Coaching ![]() AmyBeth grew up in Aberdeen, Scotland and won her first music prize at just 8 years old. She was involved in various prestigious choirs around Scotland from the age of 16 including being a soloist for the National Youth Choir of Scotland, TOTAL Aberdeen Youth Choir, Aberdeen International Youth Festival Choir and the RSNO Chorus. After High school, AmyBeth won a place at the Iain Tomlin School of Music in Edinburgh where she obtained a degree in Opera performance. Her career then took her back to Aberdeen, where she studied for her teaching degree studying under Jean Webster and former ENO and Scottish Opera Soprano, Gillian Jack. While at Aberdeen, AmyBeth was the Principal Music Scholar, Senior Soprano Scholar and won both a prestigious Ogston prize and an Ogston Scholarship. She was one of the Principal singers for Scottish Ballets’ touring production of ‘The Snowman’ and has performed all over the country. AmyBeth has been a singing teacher for 12 years and has worked both in schools and in community arts projects throughout Scotland. She is very excited to be joining the staff and is looking forward to her new adventures in England!
